So...

I live in a three room, apartment style dorm with two girls in each room. Courtney and Ashley are in one, Aly and Amy are in another, and heather and I live together. Well last night, for the first time, Heather decided to sleep somewhere else and I was alone. I went to sleep around 2:30. Well, about 3:30, Ashley, Courtney, and one of their friends woke me up by screaming in their room. I thought they were just being their usual, loud selves and went back to bed.

A little while later, security knocked on my door and woke me up again. He asked if I had anyone in my room, and if anyone had bothered me. Well, I was so tired, I didn't put two and two together and I didn't suspect anything was wrong. I was just mad at being woke up. So I said no, and went back to bed.

Around 4:30, I got a text from Aly that she was going home and that Heather and I would be by ourselves. I didn't know why I needed to know this at 4:30 in the morning, but I answered that Heather was at Kimber’s and I asked what had happened earlier. She told me that somebody was in our apartment and tried to get into Ashley and Courtney’s room. They had unplugged the security camera, and wrote “missed” on Aly’s white board.

By this time was really scared. I asked Kimber to come get me and take me back to Liles. Aly said she had tried to wake me up, but couldn’t, which was why she left me. But she assured me that security was watching our room like a hawk.

I spent the rest of the night in Kimber’s roommate’s bed and came back to my room around 9:00

Courtney and Ashley were here and told me what had happened while I was asleep. Courtney was asleep when Ashley and her friend came home from Taco Bell. They were in the room when they saw a shadow under the door and they began to get nervous. The person either had to follow them in from the street, or he was already there. Their door was unlocked, and Ashley’s keys were in the door. They called a guy friend (they didn’t have security’s number) and he came over with a baseball bat. They checked out the room, but didn’t find anyone. They called security and they came and checked everything out and didn’t find anything. The police were called too. Sometime, while everyone was out of the room, the person came back to write the message on Aly’s board.

We think it’s possibly a joke, because they could have gotten into their room, but he didn’t. We hope it is, but we’ve learned to keep our front door locked at ALL times.

It was a very frightening night.
